Part 1

We begin with a broad national and international perspective on the growing disparity of wealth and income gaps between the rich and the poor and speak with the Vice President for Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution Darrell West, the author of a new book “Billionaires: Reflections on the Upper Crust”. He joins us to discuss the 1,645 men and women who control a massive share of global assets worth $6.5 trillion and what that means for the other 99.99998% of us and what we can do to reverse the capture of our politics by the super-rich as American democracy becomes more and more of a political game-show orchestrated by oligarchs who in turn work with an oligarch-controlled press to perpetuate the myth of an American dream and a meritocracy.

Part 2

Then we hear from Robert Reich who I spoke with back on February the 10th when the new documentary feature starring him “Inequality For All” was released. He was the former Secretary of Labor during the Clinton Administration and has since become a leading voice for the voiceless as he tries to lead a popular revolt against the domination of our economy and politics by a handful of plutocrats and giant corporations who have purchased the best government that money can buy.
