Vivien Lesnik Weisman is a filmmaker, writer and political commentator. She was born in Havana, Cuba. Her father, Max Lesnik, was an close associate of Fidel Castro and the revolution, but became disenchanted and moved his family to Miami in 1961 where he found himself at odds with other Cuban exiles. Vivien Weisman tells his story, and her own experience in coming to terms with that history and her Cuban heritage, in her award-winning documentary, The Man of Two Havanas, which we are offering today as a thank-you gift for your support of “The Daily Briefing” and KPFK.
