Erwin Chemerinsky is the founding dean and distinguished professor of law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law, with a joint appointment in Political Science. Prior to joining UC Irvine, he taught law at Duke University and the University of Southern California, among others. His books include Interpreting the Constitution, Constitutional Law: Principles and Policies, Enhancing Government: Federalism for the 21st Century, and a brand new book called, The Conservative Assault on the Constitution. He frequently argues cases before the highest courts, including the Supreme Court.

Julia Bacha is an award-winning filmmaker who directed "Budrus" about a Palestinian village's sustained nonviolent struggle to save their land from the route of the Separation Barrier. Budrus won the second prize Audience Award at the Berlin International Film Festival. Previously, Julia wrote and co-directed the documentary Encounter Point which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival, and received the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the San Francisco Film Festival. Julia co-wrote and edited Jehane Noujaim’s documentary, "Control Room" which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and for which she was nominated to the Writer’s Guild of America Award. She is Senior Producer and Media Director at Just Vision which supports Israelis and Palestinians who are working towards nonviolent solutions to the conflict.
